Welcome to the year of the snake
It was cold, it was wet, but we were undeterred. Rain could not stop the Chinese New Year celebrations in Trafalgar Square.
Bustling and crowded, this is the sort of event we excel at here in London – a street party embracing diversity.
More about the year of the snake
“This 2013 year of Snake is meant for steady progress and attention to detail. Focus and discipline will be necessary for you to achieve what you set out to create. The Snake is the sixth sign of the Chinese Zodiac, which consists of 12 Animal Signs. It is the enigmatic, intuitive, introspective, refined and collected of the Animals Signs. Ancient Chinese wisdom says a Snake in the house is a good omen because it means that your family will not starve.”*

My day
I was practically dragged along with the crowds in front of the stalls, but still managed to get a few photographs.

What fun! But I don’t think I’d care for the big crowd.
Hi Eagle-Eyed.
Thank you for the comment.
I think if it wasn’t raining it would have probably been a larger crowd.
(I’m not sure if the rain counts as a sliver lining though 🙂 )
Thanks you so much for the pingback 🙂
